My brother and I moved up to Illinois in March 2015, away from everything we knew in Mississippi.
We were in a moving van cab with two cat carriers between us. The carriers were pointed with the door facing straight up and inside were two cats, who could each smell the other but could only see the ceiling. They were sedated so they could theoretically sleep through the trip, but in actuality the newly boneless babbies just took turns, one meowing while the other slept for a few hours at a time and then they’d switch.

We got to the Mississippi state line rest stop and let them stretch their legs. They didn’t get sedated afterwards and they made the trip much better.
The trip took a full 24 hours of driving counting a short sleep break in the middle, and the two girls were happy to be in our new home very soon.
